Last Week

Pastor Halaas led worship in the Chapel of the Presbyterian United Church of Christ. Thank you to Gail and Tim Kass, Jess Kopperud, Jordan Kopperud, and Angela Catton for all their contributions to our worship service!

This Week
This coming Sunday marks Living Faith's last time of worship in the Chapel of the PUCC! See more information as to what's next for Living Faith by reading to the end of this week's news! Come join us in bidding the Chapel a fond farewell at 11:00 AM! On Sunday, Pastor Halaas will lead us in worship and will also accompany us on the piano. Yvonne Law will be our scripture reader. If you would like to greet or serve communion, please let Kay know!

The Noisy Offering box will be out on the sign up table this Sunday. Bring your change and add it to a box that's becoming nicely heavy!

The coffee is on at 10:00 in the Fellowship Hall of the PUCC this coming Sunday! Grab a cup and join us as we share highs and lows together. Once the PUCC worship service ends, we will mix and mingle with them to get further acquainted!

Posters are up on the wall across from the sign up table with information on all the Living Faith has been up to since the beginning of 2024! Take a look at how busy we have been!
First Communion Information!

If you are interested in having your child(ren) learn about Holy Communion so they may receive Holy Communion on Sundays, please see Pastor Halaas who will give you these resources for you to visit with your children about this Sacrament. Children as young as two years of age are welcome! Some Living Faith parents met with Pastor Halaas on Sunday evening to receive these resources and when those parents are ready for their children to receive Communion, you will see them at the Table soon!

Sundays in October

October 6th - Worship at Hillview in Hinton
We will worship with the PUCC at Hillview Recreation Area just north of the Hinton city limits at 10:00.
Following worship, we will have a potluck lunch featuring pulled pork sandwiches and pulled pork nachos. Please bring a side dish or dessert and your table service. If you wish a different beverage other than the provided water and lemonade, please bring what you wish.
Sunday, October 13 - First Sunday Worship in the PUCC Sanctuary

We are excited to announce that on Sunday, October 13, Living Faith will begin worship in the PUCC Sanctuary at 11:00 AM. Pastor Halaas will welcome us into this new space which will give us room to grow but also will hopefully retain the intimacy of the spaces we have been used to! Some PUCC children may be receiving their first Communion on this day!
Sunday, October 20 - Christmas Camp!

Living Faith will hold "Christmas Camp" for its children of all ages - ages 3 and up - at on Sunday, October 20th at 10:00 AM in Room 103!
Children will be preparing for a Living Faith Christmas program over the next few months, meeting once monthly to get ready! Dates for Christmas Camp are October 20, November 17, and December 8 at 10:00 with the program occurring on December 15 during worship.
Parents, some have let Kay know of their children's availability for attending but if you have not contacted her, please let her know as soon as possible if you are planning to have your child(ren) attend. Children in grades 6 and up are needed to help out with the planned activities for each Sunday. Living Faith, adult help is also needed so please let Kay know if you can help out. The program we will be preparing for is simple in nature so no previous Christmas program involvement is necessary!
Reformation and Confirmation Sunday on October 27th!

Living Faith will celebrate Reformation Sunday on October 27th and Marley Stream's Confirmation at a special service time of 1:00 that day. Pastors David Halaas and Trish Underberg will preside.

Living Faith and the PUCC will be jointly holding a Community Coffee on Wednesday, October 16 from 9:30 - 10:30! Put on your Living Faith gear and come on out to the PUCC Fellowship Hall where we will tell the story of our churches working together to our Le Mars neighbors and friends!
S'mores + Ashes last Sunday!
40 Living Faith-ers gathered at the Municipal Park on a beautiful Sunday evening to burn the palm branches from Palm Sunday 2024 to make ashes for Ash Wednesday 2025!

Thank you to Cheryl Juhl for providing the roasting sticks and all the fixings for the s'mores! Thank you to all for coming out to enjoy a wonderful evening of Living Faith Fellowship!
