**Living Faith celebrated Pastor Paige and Bailey on Saturday!**

**Sunday, September 20th - 17th Sunday after Pentecost**

Pastor Paige Quanbeck delivered a thought provoking message on grace, mercy, and the fairness of God based on the passage from Matthew 20: 1 - 16. Please find the Living Faith Facebook page and click on the live stream link to hear it or listen to it again!

Sunday, September 27th

Living Faith will be worshiping on Sunday, September 27th in the sanctuary of the Presbyterian United Church of Christ (858 7th Ave. SE) at 11:00 AM. If you are searching a place of belonging, come belong with us!

Pastor Paige will lead us in worship, Pixie Balt will be accompanying us, Karen Schroeder will read scripture, Yvonne Law will assist with Holy Communion, Tim Kass will usher, and Bailey Quanbeck will live stream our service.

The Noisy Offering box will be out on the Living Faith table in the narthex on Sunday - it's already the last Sunday of the month! This year's noisy offering will go towards Pastor Paige's Fully Beloved ministry.

Bible Study will resume on Sunday at 9:30 AM in Room 105. Pastor Paige will lead us in a discussion about the readings for the day that will be heard later in the morning in worship!

Good questions and discussion arise during this hour! Join in!

After Bible Study hour, please come across the hall to the Fellowship Hall for coffee and conversation with our PUCC friends!

There will be no Confirmation Classes this week at Living Faith. Pastor Paige will be attending her uncle's funeral in Spokane, Washington. Classes will resume on Wednesday, September 30.

On Sunday, October 4, Pastor Paige will share a mission statement for Living Faith's review and input. The Church Council has taken all the input from our three visioning sessions earlier this year and has drafted a statement for consideration. Members will also be able to give input on the many core values derived from the visioning sessions to narrow and put focus on just a few.

Belonging Sunday will take place on Sunday, October 11th. If you would like to become a member of Living Faith, please speak to Pastor Paige.

Our September mission project, Give a Leg Up - Leggings and Sweatpants donations for the elementary schools' nurses' offices, will conclude this coming Sunday. If you'd like to purchase leggings and/or sweatpants (child sizes xs - m), you can drop them off in the red bin on the Living Table. There is also a money collection box there is you wish to make a monetary donation.

Last week, an emergency plea came in to bring any xs collected pants to one of the schools as they were already in great need! Living Faith was able to quickly meet that need with some of the items already brought in to the red bin! Thank you, Living Faith!

Living Faith will be volunteering to pack snacks for the Le Mars Backpack program on Monday, September 28 at 4:30 PM. Meet on the east side of the Nohava Construction building (209 2nd St. SW) and enter through the marked door. Wear your Living Faith gear!

The Backpack program is in need of more volunteers and so mark your calendars for Monday, November 16 when we will be packing snacks again that day at 4:30 PM.

This event is hosted by Dave Grosenheiders' creation, Spirit 712 Radio, a ministry Living Faith supports with its benevolence monies!

S'mores and Ashes - October 4 at 4:00 PM!

Living Faith's annual tradition of burning our Palm Sunday branches to make ashes for the upcoming Ash Wednesday service will happen (weather permitting) on Sunday, October 4 at 4:00 PM with location to be determined. After the ashes are created, it will be time for some s'more making! Plan to come and bring your lawn chairs!

Saturday, September 19th - Living Faith Celebrates

Living Faith came together to celebrate the marriage of Pastor Paige and Bailey which took place on Saturday, September 12th. We gathered in the event space of the Wells Visitor Center and Ice Cream Parlor. The theme for the party was "Love is the Ultimate Bucket List" and all were invited to create a themed "bucket" of items for the couple and to fill out cards suggesting bucket list adventures for them! The following are pictures from the day from set-up to celebrating!

So many helped to make this party special! Thank you so much to: Kari Kopperud who made most all of the brunch food we enjoyed - so good! Angela Catton who made the cupcakes and provided the fun stand for them! Karen and Clara Kass who made pies for us to enjoy! Todd and Kim Lang, June Ferguson, Yvonne Law, Sue Stream and Debbie Gibson who brought in egg bakes for the brunch! Sharon Utesch, Gail Kass, Sandy Heeren and Mark and Cheryl Juhl who provided water and Todd and Kim Lang, Sharon Utesch and Karen Schroeder who brought in orange juice. Sharon Utesch who created the floral centerpieces! Kay Michaelson who brought in activities for our younger guests to enjoy! And a special thank you for all who stayed to clean up the fun: Clara and Karen Kass, Mark and Angela Catton, Sandy Heeren, Sue Stream, Sharon Utesch, Kay Michaelson, and Dawn Richards.
