Last Week

Thank you to all who helped with our Sunday worship in the Chapel:

  • Tim Kass, Kay Allen, and Kay Michaelson

  • Pastor David Halaas

This Week

  • We welcome Pastor Joy Gonnerman to the Chapel for worship! Pastor Joy lives in Sioux City and ministers to Rosecrance Jackson Recovery Center. Pastor Joy will be with us every other Sunday for the next few months! Welcome Pastor Joy!

  • Kjersten Rathke will read Scripture and Sandy Heeren will serve Communion.

Faith & Fellowship Change for Sunday!

This Sunday we will gather with the Presbyterian United Church of Christ members at 10:00 to hear from international peacekeeper, Efi Latsoudi. Efi works with immigrants and refugees in Europe. We will sit in the back and leave for worship with Living Faith at 10:45 or so.

Undie Sunday continues for the month of September as Living Faith gathers donations of underwear for teenage boys and girls. At the end of the month, we will present these donations to the nurse's offices at Le Mars Community Middle School and High School. Drop your drawers in the marked basket in the hallway outside the Chapel!

Tuesday, September 26th at 4:00 pm is Living Faith's time to help with the Le Mars Backpack Program! We will gather at the Nohava Construction building, 209 2nd St. SW. Enter through the east facing marked door for the Backpack Program.

All ages are welcome to participate and help with this effort!

Sign up on the sheet on the table in the hallway outside the Chapel. Depending on how many participate, we should be wrapped up between 5:00 and 5:30!

Kortney, Conor and Marley! If you are interested in attending the National Youth Gathering in New Orleans next summer, please contact Pastor Trish Underberg at underbergtrish@gmail.com or text her at 712-660-8583 as soon as possible. Also, please let anyone on the Leadership Team know as the Team will discuss how to support you financially in attending this event. Registration and its non-refundable $150 fee happens on September 30.

Important note!: The Western Iowa Synod is funding a 55 passenger bus for WIS youth who wish to attend!! So transportation costs are already covered!

Coming in October!

October 1: S'mores and Ashes in the Park!

Living Faith is invited to the Pit Park (area near the pickleball and tennis courts) at 7:00 pm! We will burn our Palm Sunday branches to create the ashes we will use on Ash Wednesday 2024! After that we will roast marshmallows to enjoy s'mores. Plan to stay for a Bags Tournament and other yard games and friendly conversations! It's a school night, so we will wrap up at 8:00!

October 8: Living Faith Worshiping Community All Member Potluck and Meeting!

We will gather following worship in the Fellowship Hall of the PUCC for our meal. Chili will be provided and members are asked to bring a side dish or dessert.

During the meeting, Kari Kopperud, our treasurer, will give a financial report. The Leadership Team will lead members to discuss and make decisions on benevolence partners (local, state, national, international charities will be considered), local mission projects to commit to on an on-going basis, and faith-building activities we desire within our worshiping community. Mark your calendars and plan to attend!
