ree — Owen Rathke and Shawn Shipley celebrated their first communion with Pastor Halaas and Living Faith on Sunday!

Last Week

Living Faith began a new chapter of worship with our gathering in the Sanctuary of the PUCC for Sunday morning worship! Pastor Halaas planned a service which reflected our new venture from the songs to the words he spoke! Thank you to all 49 who came out to celebrate this new space and everyone who helped with the service: Pastor Halaas, John and Peg McAllister, Angela Catton, Tim Kass, Travis Balt, Kjersten Rathke, Yvonne Law and Debbie Gibson.

A special part of the first service in the sanctuary was the first time at the Table for Owen Rathke and Shawn Shipley! Owen is in 4th grade at Franklin School and is the son of Mike and Kjersten Rathke. Shawn is in 3rd grade at Clark School and is the son of Nick and Melinda Shipley. Congratulations to these boys and their families!

A Special Birthday Suprise Followed the Service!

Pastor Halaas celebrates a milestone birthday on October 15 and Living Faith surprised him with a cake reception following the service! (See the cake to note which milestone is happening!) Living Faith gifted Pastor Halaas with two tickets to the Sioux City Symphony's Christmas show, "Home for the Holidays". Thank you to Kari and Jess Kopperud for arranging and serving the refreshments for Pastor Halaas' party.

Next Week

Join us in the sanctuary for our 11:00 service with Pastor Halaas presiding! Karen Schroeder will read our scripture for the day and Gail Kass will accompany us on the piano. Nathan Summerside will assist with Communion and Conor, Nate and Owen Rathke will greet you at the door!

Faith + Fellowship meets at 10:00 in the Fellowship Hall of the PUCC. Enter through the south facing front doors, go down the hallway past the Sanctuary, turn right and the Hall is at the end of that hallway. The coffee will be on and we will share highs and lows while we wait for the PUCC service ending when those members will join us for continuing conversation!

Community Coffee on Wednesday!

Living Faith and the PUCC are jointly hosting a Community Coffee (formerly known as a Chamber Coffee!) on Wednesday. Put on your Living Faith gear and come to the Fellowship Hall to greet your friends and neighbors and share with them about our worshiping community!

ree — Reformation/Confirmation is October 27 at 1:00!

Living Faith will gather for worship on Reformation/Confirmation Sunday at 1:00 PM in the PUCC Sanctuary! Wear red and join us in this special Sunday! Marley Stream will be confirmed at this service. Following the service, you are invited to stay for a small reception to congratulate Marley in the Fellowship Hall! Pastor Halaas and Pastor Underberg will be presiding for this service!

Christmas Camp scheduled for October 20 has been canceled. Living Faith will offer a Christmas program for all ages on Sunday, December 15 and it will be designed as a No Preparation program!

All Saints' Sunday is November 3rd. Pastor Jean will be presiding at this service. During worship, we will be remembering the saints who have passed away over the past year. If you have the name of a loved one you would like us to remember that day, please let Kay know.

Please let Kay know by the end of October if you are interested in forming a Christmas Choir to sing at our December 15 worship service. We are also in need of someone who could accompany this choir.

Thank You from Le Mars Community for Our September Underwear Drive

Upcoming Advent Service Project!

This year, Living Faith's Advent Service Project will be that of a Boxed Cereal Drive for the Le Mars Backpack program. More details about this drive will be coming in the month of November but a date to get on your calendar now is Wednesday, November 20 at 4:30. It is on this date and at this time that Living Faith will be helping to pack the backpack snacks for all the elementaries of Le Mars Community and Gehlen Catholic. Then, Sunday, November 24th will be the kick-off Sunday for the cereal project. Be watching the November weekly news for all the details about this drive!

PUCC Pie Sale

The PUCC is selling pies for the upcoming holiday season. Look for this order form on the PUCC information table in the narthex. Fill it out and leave your form and payment at the table!

Friends of Noah's Ark

Noah's Ark Preschool is advertising for the 2024 - 2025 Friends of Noah's Ark Membership. Look for the green sheets on the Living Faith sign up table and become a member of the preschool! There are different levels of giving and payment can be made via check or Venmo. There are also options for volunteering to help out with things the preschool needs that you can sign up for on the form.
