Last Week
Road Trip Day! Living Faith went on the road to St. Mark Lutheran Church in Storm Lake to worship with the church community who gifted us with the hymnal supplements, All Creation Sings. We expressed our thanks by participating in worship, visiting during the following Fellowship Hour and enjoying a meal together at the Regatta Restaurant at King's Pointe, overlooking Storm Lake. What a great morning to deepen our friendship with our brothers and sisters in Christ in Storm Lake! Thank you to Chaplain Melanie Hauser, Deb Mortensen, Julie Cook, Kay Broich, those who provided the Fellowship Hour refreshments and all the members of St. Mark - you made us feel so welcomed!

This Week
We welcome ALL to the Chapel within the walls of the Presbyterian United Church of Christ (858 7th Ave. SE) at our summer worship time of 11:00! Pastor David Halaas will preside over worship, Debbie Gibson will be our reader and Karen Schroeder will assist with Holy Communion. We will welcome Mike Rathke at the piano to accompany us! If you would like to greet worshipers at the door on Sunday, please let Kay know!

Faith + Fellowship will return to its 10:00 meeting time in Room 103.
Come for a cup of coffee - a new brewer is up to bat this week!
We invite you to come and join in the visiting and discussion we have about Sunday's Gospel lesson!

There are Summer Bible Buckets and a Bin that are available for pick up for any family member or friend who would enjoy one! The buckets are for the younger students and the bin has Minute to Win It games for older students. Pick one up on Sunday! Thank you, Kortney, for your work on this!
Sign up to walk in the parade or ride the parade float and donate candy for the Ice Cream Days Parade! Bring your candy to Living Faith by June 9th or get it to Kay Michaelson by June 14. Please donate hard candy of any kind - please, no chocolate. Look for the sign up sheets to volunteer on the sign up table outside the chapel. If you would like to sign up and cannot be in worship on Sunday, please contact Kay to let her know what you'd like to help with. For those who will be in the crowd watching the parade, please take pictures of our float and send them to Angela or Kay!

Ice Cream buckets with handles are needed for our walkers in the parade who are giving out spoons and candy!
Please bring your buckets to Living Faith on Sunday or get them to Kay by June 14.

Living Faithfully
On Living Faith's website (www.livingfaithlemars.com), there is a new link called Living Faithfully. This new page features the 7 Practices of Faithful Living. Faithful Practice Number 5 is Encourage...Teaching...Mentoring - Sharing the Faith!
Here is how Living Faith currently works to put this faithful practice into action:
The Faith + Fellowship Hour features a discussion on the Gospel lesson for the day each Sunday.
6th, 7th and 8th graders attend the Confirmation program in partnership with the western rural Lutheran churches of Le Mars and the Akron area.
Kortney Kopperud and Kay Michaelson are piloting a volunteer mentoring program for 10 - 12th graders who have been confirmed.
Living Faith intends to host a 1 hour VBS experience at the end of this month.
The Lenten season this winter featured an educational and discussion time on Civic LIfe and Faith.
Some of the books that Pastor Halaas has featured for young children during Celebration Time have been distributed to young children.
Living Faith offers a $100 scholarship to any youth who would like to attend Bible Camp.
Living Faith has financially supported Conor Rathke who will be attending the National Youth Gathering this summer.
Discussions are starting about having a Bible Study offered outside of the Sunday morning time.
Living Faith 4 year olds - 5th graders are invited to attend the PUCC's Children's Chapel from 10:15 - 11:00 during the school year.
If there are other ways you would like to see educational/mentoring opportunities happen for Living Faith, please lift them up to the Leadership Team!
