Listen to our live-streamed service on Facebook to find out what blueberry pancakes have in common with the story of the loaves and fishes! Pastor Paige led Living Faith's worship on August 2nd, the tenth Sunday after Pentecost. The live-stream also includes a little math lesson during the special time for children!

Thank you to those who set up our worship area: Tim Kass, Angela Catton, Kay Michaelson and John & Peg McAllister.

Thank you to those who helped during worship: Gail Kass, Tim Kass, the Morgan boys, Karen Schroeder, Kay Michaelson and Mark Catton.

Thank you to all who helped after the service: Brian & Kay Michaelson, Karen Schroeder, Tim & Gail Kass, Mark & Angela Catton and Jim & Sandy Heeren.

On Sunday, Sandy Heeren shared her experiences at the WELCA Triennial Gathering in Des Moines. She spoke about the sessions she attended, the warmth and friendliness she experienced, and the inspiration she received from the conference. In three years, the Gathering will take place in Kentucky.

Sunday, August 9th

Come worship with a welcoming community on Sunday, August 9th at 11:00 AM in the sanctuary of the Presbyterian United Church of Christ at 858 7th Ave. SE in Le Mars! Pastor Paige McGrath will lead worship, Gail Kass will accompany us on the piano and Nathan Summerside will read scripture and assist with Holy Communion.

John & Peg McAllister will prepare communion including providing the bread. Angela Catton will live-stream our service. If you would like to help run the remote for the hymn slides, please let Kay know.

Sunday help during worship is needed! Please consider signing up and volunteering to help! Those doing jobs now are happy to visit with you about the tasks and to answer any questions you may have!

  1. Read scripture and assist with Holy Communion: Sign up on the sheet on the Living Faith table in the narthex! We are in need of someone to read scripture on August 16th

and to fill out the rest of our needs for August and into September.

  1. Live stream our service: Angela Catton has stream-lined how to share our service with Facebook users so that it is really easy to pick up to learn. She will show you how this is easily done. Live streamers are especially needed on September 27, October 18, and November 1.

  1. Running the hymn slide "clicker": This can be done sitting right where you are when you are in worship. Kay Michaelson will give you a quick tutorial on which buttons to press! Help is especially needed this coming Sunday - August 9th.

  1. Taking action photos during worship: If you have a phone, you are in business with helping to take candid shots during worship. The photos are texted to Kay and they are used in the weekly news. Help is especially needed on Sunday, August 16th.

Living Faith is partnering with the PUCC to deliver Meals on Wheels for the weeks of August 17, August 24, August 31 and September 8. Each week has two routes ( a north route and a south route) so there are 8 total routes to cover for those weeks. Living Faith's obligation is to cover 4 of those routes during those weeks.

The time obligation is from 10:30 - around 11:15 Monday - Friday with the exception of Labor Day. Kay Michaelson and Yvonne Law have signed up for two weeks of routes, so volunteers are needed for only two more weeks/routes. It is helpful to have 2 people go together but one person could certainly handle the task.

The Meals on Wheels organization provides the meals and the addresses within the town of Le Mars to make the deliveries.

The sign up bulletin board is in the narthex of the PUCC near the PUCC table. The sign up will be out in the narthex until all routes are filled. If you have any questions, please contact Kay Michaelson.

The Church Council has received some good suggestions for Sunday, September 13th's God's Work Our Hands Sunday - thank you! Please keep the good suggestions coming - keeping in mind the project should last a half hour and be one that all ages can participate in!
