We welcome all to worship with us in our new space at the Presbyterian United Church of Christ - their chapel!

Last Week:

Thank you to:

  • Pastor David Halaas for leading us in song (!) and worship! If you were not able to join us, you can hear Pastor Halaas' musical sermon on our Facebook page! We are grateful to Pastor Halaas for gifting us with several resources for Living Faith and these will be out on the sign up table for members to pick up this Sunday!

  • Those who served in worship: Tim Kass, Jess Kopperud, and Kari Kopperud.

27 worshiped together and our offering totaled $3,674.30.

The final total for our RAGBRAI Bishops' Hunger challenge was $800!

This Sunday:

We welcome Pastor Denne back to the Chapel!

Dawn Richards will accompany us, Kim Lang will read Scripture and Todd Lang will assist with communion.

We had a wonderful group at Faith + Fellowship Time last Sunday! Thank you to Gail Kass for providing the refreshments! Kay Allen will be treating us this coming Sunday!

This group is working on a June service project so if you'd like to be in on the fun, come to Room 103 for a cup of coffee this Sunday at 10:00 to find out what we're up to!

Ice Cream Days Parade is Saturday!

On Sunday, we got a sneak peek of some of the "bling" that will be on our float for the parade! Fabulous!

Here's the information for the parade. Whether you are riding or walking or watching, there are ways you can participate!:

Information for those who would like to help decorate the float: Come to our float location at 8:30 Saturday morning. Our float is #38 and will be parked between 1st Ave. SW and 2nd Ave. SW on the Boulevard. Easiest parking to reach the float could well be to park in the high school parking lot and walk east up the boulevard to find us.

Information for those who are planning to ride or walk with the float in the parade: Be at the float location (see directions above) by 9:30. Wear your Living Faith t-shirt if you have one! Chairs will be provided on the float. Those who have signed up to ride or walk are: Kay Michaelson, Angela and Mark Catton, Gail Kass (Tim is driving!), John and Peg McAllister, Bob & Debbie Gibson, Sharon Utesch, Mark Juhl, and Rich and Jean Ziettlow. If you did not get a chance to sign up, please text Kay at 712-540-5368, and we will make sure we have a spot for you!

Information for those who decorated placards for the float: Placards can be delivered to Kay Michaelson's home (1501 2nd Ave. SE) any time this week or brought to our float location by 9:30 on Saturday morning.

Information for those who are planning to watch the parade: You can help by donating a bag of candy. Candy should be individually wrapped and preferably not chocolate. You can drop off your candy donations to Kay Michaelson any time this week or bring it to the float location by 9:30 on Saturday morning. You can also help by taking photos of our float as the parade goes by your vantage point! Text them to Angela (712-301-8545) or Kay!

We are excited to be spreading the word about Living Faith to the Le Mars community!

Communion for the Homebound

Did you know Living Faith can offer Communion for the Homebound?

Ardis Boetger has been providing communion to an individual who cannot attend church in person. You will find out very quickly in visiting with Ardis how passionate she is about this ministry! If you know someone who is homebound and would like to receive Communion, please let Ardis or anyone on the Leadership Team know and we will make that happen! Thank you to Ardis for this ministry she provides for Living Faith!

PUCC Do-Day on Thursday, June 22 begins at 9:30 in the Fellowship Hall. This day is dedicated to making kid's school bags and fleece blankets for the Pine Ridge Reservation, Ogallala, SD. This is a come and go event - and you do not need sewing skills to help out! Fleece blanket material will be purchased and ready to be assembled. Bring scissors, pins and tape measure. For school bags, please bring 1/2 yd. heavier weight cotton "kid-friendly" fabric. Thread will be available. If you have a sewing machine, rotary and cutter, please bring these along. Let Audrey Scholten (712-540-5001) know if you can bring these items.

By June 18, let Ruth Farley (712-546-6434) know if you are planning to come for all day or part of the day and if you will be having lunch.

If you can't attend but would like to donate items for the school bags, here is what is needed for each bag: rounded tip scissors, 70-count spiral notebooks, 12" ruler, hand-held pencil sharpener, new wooden pencils with erasers, large eraser, box of 24 crayons. These items can be placed in the totes located in the lobby of the PUCC.

Lunch will be provided for a small fee.

Worship in the Park on Sunday, July 16! We will gather in O'Toole Park at 11:00. Bring a lawn chair! Details on the lunch following will be coming soon!

Faith5 is a daily practice that can be done at the supper table or before bedtime! It involves 5 simple steps:

  1. Share Highs and Lows

  2. Read a Bible Story or Verse

  3. Talk about how that verse or story relates to anyone's highs or lows.

  4. Pray for one another's highs and lows.

  5. Bless each other.

This link gives you some information from Faith5's creator, Dr. Rich Melheim, about the practice of sharing highs each day: https://www.faith5.org/what-is-faith5

Church Nursery

The PUCC has graciously invited us to use their church nursery during our worship services. The nursery is located right next door to the chapel.

Living Faith loves having little ones in worship but if parents wish to use this room, they are welcome to do so.

Living Faith members being ministered to by Pastor Jay Denne.

Please keep the following in your prayers:

  • Karen Schroeder's brother who experienced a fall in his home.

  • Cole, Brittany and Morgan McAllister as Morgan grows each day!

  • John & Peg McAllister's brother-in-law who is experiencing health difficulties.

  • Safe travels for all summer vacationers.

  • Thanksgiving for our nation and our national symbol on June 14's Flag Day!
