Last Week
3 Kings arrived at Living Faith on Sunday to process to the King to present their gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh! Pastor Halaas greeted the sojourners and advised them to return to their country by a different route!

Next Week
Living Faith worships within the sanctuary of the Presbyterian United Church of Christ, 858 7th Ave SE in Le Mars, Iowa. Worship begins at 11:00 AM and all are welcome to worship! Pastor David Halaas will preside for the Baptism of our Lord Sunday and Gail Kass will accompany us on the piano. Nathan Summerside will read scripture and Yvonne Law will assist with Holy Communion.
Faith + Fellowship, a time to visit and enjoy refreshments with our PUCC friends, takes place on Sunday mornings at 10:00 in the Fellowship Hall of the PUCC. Soon, we will have the January - May schedule for those hosting each coffee time and if you signed up to provide treats, you will be notified of your Sunday as soon as the schedule becomes available. If you cannot help on the Sunday you are scheduled, you are free to switch with someone!
Sunday after services, several members lingered and said they could not come to the scheduled Wednesday time to take down the Living Faith Christmas decor but that they wanted to help so we got to work and everything for Living Faith was down and stored away in about 15 minutes!
There are still ways to help in taking down and storing the Christmas greenery in the Sanctuary that we got to enjoy and the costuming that the PUCC kindly lent us for our Wisemen! So if you're free at 5:00 on Wednesday afternoon and would like to lend a hand with de-Christmasing at the PUCC, come on by!
PS! Come at 4:00 if you'd like to help change the Christmas decor in the Fellowship Hall too!
The last Noisy Offering of 2024 was collected on Sunday and will now be counted and Living Faith will determine where this year-long donation should go!
How much money do you think will come out of that box? It was really heavy! Email or text your guesses for the total amount to Kay! As well, we will collect your suggestions as to where you would like to donate this offering so email or text your suggestions too! We will announce the offering totals and decide on who will receive it at an upcoming service!
Living Faith and the PUCC are joining together to serve the Le Mars community by delivering Meals on Wheels weekdays from January 20 - February 14! If you are free from 10:40 - 11:30 in the morning, we would love for you to consider signing up on the small bulletin board at the PUCC sign up table in the Narthex! Right now, these are the days and times needed: Someone to partner with Ardis Boetger to deliver meals from Tuesday, January 21 - Friday January 24. 4 people are needed from January 27 - 31 to cover the north and south routes. 2 people are needed to drive the north route for the week of February 3rd and 2 people are needed to drive the south route for Tuesday - Friday of that week. For the final week, February 10 - 14, 2 people are needed to cover the north route. Stop by the table and see how you can plug yourself in to help with this Le Mars ministry!
Congregational meetings will be taking place in the upcoming weeks and votes will be taken at these meetings. Here is information for you about who, at Living Faith, is eligible to vote according to our Constitution:
Eligible voters are confirmed members who have communed in the last calendar year and who have a record of monetary giving to Living Faith. If you are wondering if you are a confirmed member, please visit with Kay Michaelson. We are blessed with wonderful givers at Living Faith and a record of giving is kept by our treasurer and accountant. However, if you are putting offerings of cash into the offering plate on Sunday mornings, we do not know who has given this and thus cannot make a record of your giving. Offering envelopes are pictured above and are available at the Living Faith sign up table in the Narthex. If you would like to give cash, pick up an envelope, write your name on the front and then drop it in the offering plate when it comes around. Thank you!
The Leadership Team met recently and continued working together, planning for Living Faith's future! Please continue to keep the Team of Tim, Todd, Kay, Kari and Angela in your prayers!
