Last Week
Thank you to Pastor Halaas for leading Living Faith in worship on the sixth Sunday of Epiphany. Year C of the Lutheran calendar concentrates on the book of Luke for its Gospel readings on Sundays. Pastor Halaas gave us a brief overview of Luke and the other three Gospels. Pastor spoke about the significance of the language of Luke and the description of Jesus coming down with the people and speaking on a level plain. He concluded with the blessings or congratulations and the woes (and the synonyms for woes!) from Luke 6: 20-26. The Living Faith Facebook page has Pastor Halaas' message for the day for you to hear! (Ask Pastor Halaas about his bumper sticker collection!)

Thank you to all who assisted with worship on Sunday: Nathan Summerside, Sue Stream, Dawn Richards, Angela Catton, Tim Kass, Kay Allen, Sharon Utesch, Brian Michaelson, and Caleb, Jenelle and Anniston Van Otterloo.

Next Week

Please join Living Faith at 11:00 AM as Pastor David Halaas presides for a final Sunday at Living Faith! Worship takes place in the sanctuary of the PUCC which is located at 858 7th Ave. SE. Dawn Richards will accompany us on the piano, Judd Kopperud will read scripture and Kari Kopperud will assist with Holy Communion. All who believe that Christ is present in the bread and wine are invited to the Table!

Plan to wear your Living Faith gear on Sunday, if you have it, for a group picture!
Emergency

Next Sunday, February 23rd, Living Faith will be hosting an "Emergency Potluck" in honor of Pastor Halaas! Following worship, at 12:00 PM, come to the Fellowship Hall of the PUCC for a potluck meal. Bring a main dish or a side dish to share. The Leadership Team will provide the dessert, beverages and paper products. Come bid a fond farewell to Pastor Halaas and thank him for his service to Living Faith!

All are welcome to Faith + Fellowship time at 10:00 prior to worship each Sunday. This week, Sharon Utesch will provide treats for everyone! This is a time to visit with our PUCC friends and connect for some coffee and conversation!

There will be a Community Bed Build for Sleep in Heavenly Peace on Saturday, February 22nd, at Total Motors here in Le Mars. The link to sign up for this event has been taken down from the Sleep in Heavenly Peace Sioux City website which could indicate that the time slots for that day have been filled. Thank you to all who have volunteered! Wear your Living Faith shirt and text any pictures you take on Saturday to Kay!

Our new constitution has been submitted to Bishop Lorna Halaas. Last week, Deacon Eric Haitz asked for some church statistics he needed to complete paperwork that is to be turned in with the new constitution. Those statistics have been submitted to Deacon Haitz.

The Leadership Team met last week and worked on pulpit supply for the month of March as well as plans for Ash Wednesday and the Lenten season.

Ash Wednesday services will be held Wednesday, March 5 at 5:00 in the afternoon in the sanctuary of the PUCC, 858 7th Ave. SE. Vicar Grace Baumgartel will preside and conduct the Imposition of Ashes. We will be using the ashes which were burned at our Smores and Ashes event last fall! Holy Communion will also take place at this service.

Lenten devotionals are available for all and are located in the basket on the sign up table. There are also packets of devotions available for families with younger children and they are on the sign up table for pick up also!
