On Sunday, Living Faith welcomed the members of the Presbyterian United Church of Christ to our worship service. What a blessing to be together for this service! It was good to sing together, hear The Word together, learn together, commune together and pray together!
Thank you to all who contributed to our service: Pastor Paige, Mike Rathke, Debbie Gibson, Kari Kopperud, Tim Kass, Angela Catton, John and Peg McAllister, Todd Lang, Yvonne Law, Sharon Utesch, Brian Michaelson and Kinley and Anniston Van Otterloo.

Blessings to those starting the school year!

Pastor Paige welcomed all students and school personnel to come to the altar to receive special blessings. Teachers, school personnel and worshipers blessed the students and the students and worshipers blessed the teachers and school personnel. Backpack charms were handed out to all!

Next Sunday
Living Faith will close out August in the sanctuary of the Presbyterian United Church of Christ (858 7th Ave. SE) at 11:00 AM with Pastor Paige leading us in worship. Travis Balt will accompany us on the piano. Bailey Quanbeck will read Scripture and if you would like to assist with Holy Communion, please let Kay know. Tim Kass will greet you at the door with a bulletin.
All are welcome! We'd love to worship with you!

Thank you to Mark and Cheryl Juhl for hosting the Faith + Fellowship hour on Sunday! You treated us well! Stop by for a cup of coffee and goodies this Sunday at 10:00 in the Fellowship Hall! This time of fellowship is a wonderful way to start your Sunday morning!

This coming Sunday, the last Sunday in August, brings us to Noisy Offering Sunday! The Noisy Offering box will be out on the Living Faith table in the narthex. Bring your loose change to church and drop it off in the box. The recipient of these collections will be determined at our annual meeting in January.
Living Faith Learning Opportunities

Confirmation classes, a time of learning for students in 6th - 9th grade, will begin on Wednesday, September 3 at 7:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall of the PUCC. This first session is for students along with their parents/guardians. If you know of someone who would like to be a part of this program, please contact Pastor Paige (712-541-3782) or visit with her on Sunday morning.

Beginning September 7th, Pastor Paige will lead us in a Bible Study in Room 105 from 9:30 - 10:30 AM. At 10:30, we will join our PUCC friends for a time of fellowship in the Fellowship Hall while the sanctuary gets set up for worship at 11:00. Make plans to join us in digging deeper into God's Word!
Living Faith Serving Opportunities

The Le Mars Community Middle School's nurse's office is in need of underwear for its students. Adult sizes 5 - 6, for boys and girls, are most needed. Sunday is the last day of collection for this service project. Bring your donations in and drop them off in the box on the Living Faith table in the narthex. Thank you for your generosity!
A while back, a donation was made to Living Faith which was ear-marked for a missions project. The Church Council became aware of a need for basic pants and shirts for the elementary schools' nurses offices at the Le Mars Community Schools whenever a student is in need of a change in clothing during their school day. The donation given will go towards fulfilling this need at Clark, Franklin and Kluckhohn schools.

Thank you to Ardis and Randy Boetger for delivering Meals on Wheels last week! This week, the PUCC is covering both the north and the south routes in Le Mars. For the first week in September, Kay Michaelson and Yvonne Law will deliver meals to those on the south route and Nathan Summerside and Karen Schroeder will take the north route. We are still in need of 2 individuals who can drive and deliver the north route for the week of September 8th! We are getting down to the wire on getting this scheduled! Please consider helping out with this ministry! Please see Kay Michaelson or Yvonne Law if you have any questions about this!

Plans are being finalized for the plan for God's Work Our Hands Sunday. As soon as something definite is in place, an email will be sent out!

Preschool children ages 3 - 5 are invited to the Noah's Ark Carnival on September 7 from 3:00 - 5 PM. The carnival will be held near the preschool door entrance.
HELP is needed with this event in manning the booths. All booth supplies will be provided. There is a sign up sheet on the PUCC table in the narthex for you to choose your booth! This is a great service opportunity for middle school students and high school students! Check it out!

Events of Interest to Living Faith!

Living Faith Happenings
The Church Council held a retreat on Saturday, August 23rd at the home of Pastor Paige. We spent the time describing ourselves and Living Faith and, using scripture, we discussed who, as a church, we envisioned ourselves to be. We kept coming back to the word "relational." We spent time worshiping together and singing together and we spent time in prayer. Thank you to Pastor Paige for planning such a meaningful retreat where time flew by!
Hospitality at the McAllister's!
Thank you to John and Peg McAllister for hosting Living Faith at their "establishment" in Oyens on Sunday! On a beautiful late summer afternoon we enjoyed a time of great fellowship together!
