Living Faith is now worshiping in the Chapel of the PUCC at 11:15 AM on Sunday mornings! All are welcome!

Last Week

Thank you to Pastor Joy Gonnerman for leading us in worship! Thank you, also, for those who assisted in worship: Mark Juhl, Kjersten Rathke, Yvonne Law, Peg McAllister, and Kay Michaelson.

This Week

  • The PUCC has graciously offered Living Faith the use of their Chapel on an ongoing basis. Beginning in October, the Chapel is used by the PUCC on Sunday mornings, but is available for Living Faith's use at 11:15. In discussing this with members last Sunday, the consensus was to remain in the Chapel for worship and to move our worship time to 11:15 to make it possible for us to continue to be in the Chapel space for worship. Pastors Halaas and Gonnerman are supportive of this decision as well. Spread the word about our new time!

  • Pastor David Halaas will lead worship in the Chapel this Sunday!

  • Kjersten Rathke will read Scripture and Conor Rathke will assist with Communion.

Following worship this coming Sunday, please stay for the World's Best Chili Feed and Fellowship Meeting!

Living Faith members are invited to the Fellowship Hall of the PUCC at noon to enjoy a bowl of chili. Please bring a side dish to share to round out the meal.

Plan to remain and participate in an important meeting where you will give input on:

  • Benevolence partners for Living Faith.

  • Service projects for Living Faith members to become involved with.

  • Fellowship and faith formation activities you would like Living Faith to develop for its members for the coming year.

Please plan to come and weigh in on the discussion!

New Time for Faith + Fellowship!

With the change in our worship time, we will also adjust the Faith + Fellowship time to 10:15 - 11:05 ish. The coffee will still be on and treats will still be available, this week provided by Kay Michaelson.

All Saints Sunday

All Saints Sunday is coming the first Sunday in November. If you have a loved one who passed away during the end of 2022 or in 2023 and you would like them to be remembered at the All Saints Sunday service at Living Faith, please contact Kay Michaelson.

Here are two invitations which have been extended to Living Faith:

  1. Mark Stelzer invites you to participate in a Zoom Bible study on the book of Psalms!

Details: The First Lutheran Church of Milford, Iowa Growing Your Soul group will begin a study of the Psalms starting October 15 at 6:30 pm on Sunday evenings. There is no book and no homework. All you need is your Bible. Each session stands alone, so join as often as you are able. The hope is that we can together experience the Psalms and discuss their message, but also discern how the thoughts and words shape our spirituality and impact our lives. The group will meet via Zoom. Please contact Carol DeSchepper at cjdeschepper@gmail.com to indicate your interest so you receive the Zoom link. Please contact Carol, Jane Kruse (janek@commstock.com), or Mark Stelzer (markestelzer@hotmail.com) for more information.

2. The PUCC invites Living Faith to worship at Hillview Park in Hinton on October 22 at 10:00. Following worship, a brunch will be served.

Please pray for the following:

  1. Baby Morgan and her family - Baby Morgan had a tracheotomy last week which went smoothly.

  2. Mark Juhl's sister, Judy Plank, who is now at Brentwood following her stroke.

  3. Kevin Olson who is being treated for lung cancer.

  4. The Living Faith member you each are praying for!

  5. Living Faith as we meet on Sunday to make decisions for the future!
