Last Week
Think fire. Think God. Think wind. Think God. Think water. Think God. Think Living Faith. Think a body of people who desire to love and serve the God of fire, wind and water.
Thank you to Pastor Halaas, Dawn Richards, Peg McAllister, Kari Kopperud, Tim Kass, Kay Allen and Angela Catton for their contributions to our Pentecost worship!

This Week
Living Faith invites you to worship with us on Sunday, Holy Trinity Sunday, the first Sunday after Pentecost! We are located in the Chapel within the Presbyterian United Church of Christ at 858 7th Ave. SE! Park in the rear of the parking lot and enter through the door with our Living Faith logo. Go down the hallway, turn left and the Chapel is at the end of that long hallway....or just follow the laughter and conversation!

PLEASE NOTE!!!
NEW SUMMER WORSHIP TIME!
11:00 WORSHIP IN THE CHAPEL
This new time will be in effect from May 26 until likely the end of September.
Pastor Halaas will lead us in worship on Sunday, Kay Michaelson will read Scripture, Angela Catton will serve communion and live stream our service, and Tim Kass will usher for us. If you would like to greet people at the door, please let Kay know.

Sunday is Memorial Day weekend and we would like to remember and honor Living Faith family members and their loved ones who have served or are serving in the armed forces. Please contact Kay Michaelson via text or email to list those family members and the branches with which they are affiliated.

NEW TIME FOR FAITH + FELLOWSHIP!
With the change in worship time, Faith + Fellowship will now begin at 10:00.
This coming Sunday we will have a work session to put Living Faith information stickers on the ice cream spoons we will be handing out during the Ice Cream Days Parade on June 15. We have 2,000 spoons to add our information to so come on out early to Living Faith and help out with this task! The coffee will be on and Kay Michaelson will provide treats for the hour!

The noisy offering box will be out on the sign up table this coming Sunday!
We will take up 2 more noisy offerings on July 14 and August 25 and then at that time we will draw out the name of a local entity that we will give our offering to:
Center for Financial Education
Sleep in Heavenly Peace
Lutheran Lakeside Bible Camp
Church of the Damascus Road
United Way
SAFE Place
Habitat for Humanity
These organizations were mentioned at our October 8, 2023 work session as ones Living Faith is also interested in supporting.
SUMMER BIBLE BUCKETS FOR FAMILIES!

As a service project, Kortney Kopperud and Kay Michaelson put together Buckets of Summer Fun for Living Faith families! Young children will receive a bucket of summer Bible activities and older children will receive a bin of Minute to Win It Old Testament games. There are extras of each, so pick up an extra for a family you know who will enjoy this!
***Families! Any time you are doing any of these activities this summer, please take pictures and text or email them to Kay Michaelson!***

Living Faithfully
On Living Faith's website, there is a new link called Living Faithfully. This new page features the 7 Practices of Faithful Living. This week Faithful Practice Number 3 is: Worship...Your Presence Matters!...Worship Regularly.
Here are the ways that Living Faith works to encourage this faithful practice:
Weekly Sunday services are offered - now at 11:00 in the summer! Pastor David Halaas leads our weekly worship!
Living Faith makes an effort to welcome all who enter our doors of worship.
Our services are live streamed via Facebook.
Living Faith works to engage via social media, email, and radio ads to emphasize our worship, its schedule, and our intent to welcome all to worship.
Pastor Halaas works to make each worship service unique and special with the music, liturgy, scripture, message, and prayers offered each Sunday.
Living Faith offers Holy Communion each Sunday, open to all who attend.
The Living Faith Leadership Team, along with Pastor Halaas, intentionally looks at each service to plan a special element for worshipers.
If you have a worship idea that you would like Living Faith to consider, please contact a Leadership Team member or Pastor Halaas!

Prayers of emphasis for Living Faith-ers to offer this week:
Kipp - nephew of Mark and Cheryl Juhl. He may be able to return home from Madonna in Omaha this week with home assistance.

On Pentecost Sunday, Pastor Halaas introduced the song, "Send Down the Fire", which contained beautiful lyrics - and he warns - the tune can stick in your head!
