Thank you to Pastor Halaas, Gail Kass, Peg McAllister, Yvonne Law, Angela Catton and Tim Kass who contributed to make our worship time special! Living Faith is blessed with many who volunteer to help with worship - thank you to all!
This Week
We will celebrate the Transfiguration of our Lord (see Mark 9: 2 - 9) on Sunday in the Chapel of the PUCC at 11:15! All are invited to join us! Pastor David Halaas will preside over worship and Holy Communion. Gail Kass will accompany us on the piano and Debbie Gibson will read Scripture for us. If you would like to assist with Holy Communion, please let Kay know.

Thank you to Angela Catton for leading Faith + Fellowship last week! Tim will have the coffee ready for you at 10:15 in Room 103! Come join us! The Juhls will be providing treats this week!

Living Faith invites all to come to the Chapel on Wednesday, February 14 at 5:00 pm for our Ash Wednesday service which will feature the Imposition of Ashes and Holy Communion with Pastor Trish Underberg presiding and Gail Kass providing the accompaniment. Members of Hope Lutheran in Sioux Center have been invited to join us for this special service.

Lenten services featuring Holden Evening Prayer and Benevolent Partner Guest Speakers begin Wednesday, February 21at 5:00 in the Chapel!
Lenten meal will follow in the Fellowship Hall!
Civic Life and Faith Discussion Group meets in the Fellowship Hall at 6:15.

February 21 - Soup and sandwiches - see the sign up table outside the Chapel to volunteer to bring something for this meal!
February 28 - Lasagna, Texas toast, lettuce salad

March 13 - Taverns, cheesy potatoes
March 20 - Nacho & Taco bar
A Lenten Offering box will be out in the Fellowship Hall during the meal after Lenten services. All monies collected will go towards Living Faith's support for Conor Rathke's trip to the National Youth Gathering this summer.

Sunday, February 18 - St. Mark Lutheran (Storm Lake) members will be joining us as they present their gift to Living Faith, copies of the hymnal All Creation Sings! Pastor Dave Kebschull from St. Mark will join Pastor Halaas to introduce this new music to us! Living Faith will host a reception for St. Mark members during the Faith+ Fellowship hour at 10:15 that day - please come to meet and thank these brothers and sisters in Christ! Wear your Living Faith shirt on this day!
Sunday February 25 - Young people who are planning to attend the National Youth Gathering in New Orleans this summer, including our own Conor Rathke, will be leading worship for us! A special offering (along with our regular offering) will be taken up that day. Marked envelopes will be available beginning this Sunday for you to contribute to the expenses students will have for this trip.

You are invited to the PUCC's special Lenten event of viewing "The Chosen", an historical drama based on the life of Jesus seen through the eyes of those who knew him. The next gathering will be Sunday, February 25 at 4:00 in the Fellowship Hall.

The Leadership Team sent a congratulations card on behalf of Living Faith to Seth and Shannon Jensen who welcomed a baby girl, Sydney, into their home. Shannon is the director of Noah's Ark Preschool, our neighbor in the PUCC building!
A thank you note was sent to Carol Hallberg who donated to Living Faith the box of rhythm instruments we used during our Christmas program last year! Thank you, Carol!
We decided to add a greeter to our worship services! This person will arrive to worship 15 minutes before start time and will be at the Living Faith door to welcome worshipers and direct visitors to the Chapel. Our new worship volunteer sheet will have a space where you can sign up to be a greeter for Living Faith!
The Leadership Team is working on Easter plans for our worshiping community! When plans are all in place, we will share the news of how we are working to make this special day special for all Living Faith-ers!
Living Faith has been invited to Maundy Thursday services at Hope Lutheran in Sioux Center on March 28. More details to come on this invitation.
The Leadership Team is planning a display for the Synod Assembly being held this year in Council Bluffs. The display will feature photos of Living Faith's 2023 with a message of thanks to all in the Western Iowa Synod who have supported us over this past year!
