Living Faith members who were able to travel to Sioux City on Sunday to worship with Pastor Halaas and the members of St. Mark!

Last Week

Thank you to Pastor Halaas and the members of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Sioux City for welcoming Living Faith to your service and hosting us at a Q + A session following! We heard more encouraging words during worship! Be brave, authentic, free, and disruptive disciples of Jesus!

There were some familiar faces in the sanctuary including Bishop Lorna and Matt & Patty (Kindwall) Kann and their son Kyle! We appreciated worshiping with you and thank you for your hospitality and thoughtful questions for us afterwards!

Thank you to Gail Kass for playing the piano for us, Kim Lang for reading, Todd Lang for assisting with communion, Tim Kass for ushering, Peg McAllister for baking the communion bread, and Angela Catton for live-streaming our service to Facebook.

Synod Assembly this coming weekend!

ree

Sandy Heeren will be Living Faith's delegate to the Western Iowa Synod Assembly on Friday and Saturday!

Please hold Sandy and all those involved in the Assembly in prayer as they pray, study, discuss, discern, listen and fellowship this weekend.

Last year, Living Faith was the beneficiary of the Synod Assembly offering. This year, each church is challenged to give $450 in offering: 3/4 of this offering will go towards the youth from the Western Iowa Synod who will be attending the National Youth Gathering in New Orleans this summer. The other one-fourth of this offering will support the Western Iowa Synod Hog Project: a project that connects hog producers with community meals and food pantries around this Synod. The Leadership Team, on behalf of Living Faith, is sending a $450 offering with Sandy to the Assembly.

There is a Pre-Assembly event this year from 12:30 - 3:00 on Friday at Our Savior Lutheran church (600 Bluff St., Council Bluffs) that is free and open to anyone who wishes to attend.

Rather than have displays this year, the assembly has asked for videos to be sent in from entities who wish to give information to assembly-goers. Angela Catton has created a video of thanks from Living Faith for the offerings given to us last year. Here is the video she created that will be shown this weekend! Thank you, Angela!

Sandy will give a report to Living Faith following the weekend at a future date.

Thank you, Sandy, for giving of yourself and your time to this year's assembly on our behalf! God bless you in your travels to and from Council Bluffs and your time there!
