Sunday, April 23rd is Charter Signing Day for Living Faith!

Charter Signing Day is Sunday!

Everyone is invited to come to Living Faith at 10:30 AM on Sunday, April 23rd to sign Living Faith's Charter and become a member of this new ELCA worshiping community in Le Mars!

Each person who wishes to sign the charter will be given a Charter Certificate to take home. Special celebratory refreshments will be served!

If you would like to become a charter member of Living Faith but are unable to attend on Sunday, you will be able to sign at other services in April and May .

A note on Charter Signing: Not everyone is at the same point in their worshiping journey: You may be super eager to sign the charter or you may feel hesitant about signing at this time or you may feel like you are not comfortable at all signing onto the charter. All feelings are perfectly understandable. No matter where you are in this new path you are taking, please know that you are always welcome to worship at Living Faith and participate in the life of this community. You will be welcome to sign the charter whenever and if ever it feels right to you!

Membership Information: On Sunday, those signing the charter will be given a member information sheet. The form can be filled out and returned to the offering plate at any time. This information will be used to build a member database for church records for Living Faith.

Constitution Adoption and Leadership Team Reaffirmation this Sunday!

Following the Charter signing, members will be voting on the adoption of our Synod Authorized Worshiping Community Constitution. Please see your email sent earlier this week with an explanation about the constitution and the proposed constitution attachment.

10% of members must be in attendance for this vote and the vote must pass by 2/3 of those voting. The Leadership Team will need to be reaffirmed as well during this meeting to be in accordance with the Constitution when it is adopted. Tim Kass, President, Mark Juhl, Vice-President, Kay Michaelson - Secretary, Kari Kopperud - Treasurer, and Angela Catton - Publicity comprise Living Faith's Leadership Team.

Facebook Users!

  1. Wear your Living Faith Lutheran t-shirt or sweatshirt.

  2. Take a photo of you/your family wearing your shirts.

  3. Make a post on Facebook and tag Living Faith Lutheran Church – Le Mars IA. You can do this by using the tagging feature on Facebook or by simply typing the @ sign and, with no spaces after the symbol, and simply begin to type Living Faith Lutheran….and it should automatically pop up.

  4. At the end of the posting content, use the hashtag #LivingFaithEverwhere (it may auto-populate in lowercase letters, and that is OK as I don’t believe Facebook or hashtags have a preference on whether the letters needs caps or not).

  5. THIS IS IMPORTANT! Make sure your post’s Privacy Setting is set to Public. You can do this by finding the button in the upper left part of your post and clicking on the button that says “Friends”. When you do this, you will see several options to select from. Choose “Public” and then click on the blue “Done” button.

  6. That’s it! Proceed to post!

It may seem complicated but it really isn’t. Just be sure to tag Living Faith Lutheran, use the #LivingFaithEverywhere (with no spaces), and set your post to “public”. Thanks for helping to promote Living Faith Lutheran as you take our outreach to the streets! Your posts can be mundane or extraordinary! Just have fun and post with your shirts as often as you would like!

Last Week

40 worshipers gathered last Sunday and the offering totaled $2,005.

This Week

Peg McAllister is our scripture reader and Karen Schroeder is assisting with communion.

Due to the Charter Signing and Constitution Adoption, there will be no Faith and Fellowship time on Sunday. There will, however, be special treats and coffee as we celebrate this Signing Sunday!

Paper Jesus will be handed out at the end of the service! Take selfies of you and Paper Jesus anywhere and everywhere and text them to a Leadership Team member!
