Sunday, September 6th

Worship at Living Faith Lutheran Church on Labor Day weekend, brought a message of how to live in a baptismal community. Please go to Living Faith's Facebook page to hear Pastor Paige's sermon on Matthew 18's gospel of dealing with conflict in community.

Thank you to Pastor Paige for leading us in worship, Gail Kass for accompanying us on the piano, Bailey Quanbeck for live streaming our service, Tim Kass for ushering, John and Peg McAllister for preparing communion, and Nathan Summerside for reading scripture and assisting with Holy Communion.

Thank you also to those who helped after the service concluded: Tim Kass, Todd and Kim Lang, Sharon Utesch, and Kay Michaelson.

Sunday, September 13th

Living Faith will observe Gods Work. Our Hands. Sunday with a lay led service at 11:00 AM in the sanctuary of the Presbyterian United Church of Christ located at 858 7th Ave. SE in Le Mars. Karen Schroeder, Sandy Heeren, Mark Catton and Kay Michaelson will lead this shortened service which will feature a Hand Blessing prior to our morning service project. (There will be no Holy Communion on Sunday.) Pixie Balt will accompany us on the piano, Tim Kass will usher, and Jenni Mack will live stream our service.

After worship, Living Faith will adjourn to the Fellowship Hall to make cookies for delivery to our community's first responders and essential workers. We will need bakers, cookie packers, card artists, and cookie box deliverers for this project which will wrap up around noon.

Let Kay know if you would like to provide a sweet treat for those who will be working during this half hour. The coffee pot will be on as well!

Make plans to attend Fellowship Hour at 10:00 AM with our PUCC friends this Sunday! Gail Kass will be serving treats and coffee during this time!

We will soon be closing out our drive to help the elementary students of Le Mars with our "Give a Leg Up" clothing drive. Place your donations of sweat pants and/or leggings in the bin on the Living Faith table in the narthex of the PUCC or you can also drop a monetary donation in the marked box by the clothing bin. Thank you for your generosity!

Best wishes to Pastor Paige and Bailey who will be married on Saturday, September 12th at Lutheran Lakeside Bible Camp near Spirit Lake! This camp holds special memories for Pastor Paige as she worked there prior to her call to ministry.

Living Faith will celebrate the marriage of Paige and Bailey Quanbeck on Saturday, September 19th! Stop by the ice cream parlor for this come and go brunch from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM!

As Pastor Paige prepares for her wedding, there will be no office hours this week and next Monday at Living Faith. Office hours will resume on Thursday, September 17th.

Living Faith will be helping the Le Mars Backpack Program by packing snacks on Monday, September 28 at 4:30 PM at the Nohava Construction building.

Church Council will meet Tuesday, September 15th at 6:00 PM in Room 105! (The Weekly News will come out on September 16th to capture information from this Council meeting.)

The next Salus vocal concert will take place on Sunday, November 15th, at 2:00 PM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Remsen. There will also be a later concert that day at 5:00 PM at the Cathedral of the Epiphany in Sioux City.

Salus is a vocal ensemble which features Living Faith's Mike and Kjersten Rathke.
