Living Faith joined in on the PUCC worship and fellowship at Hillview Recreational Park on Sunday!

Last Week

On Sunday morning, we gathered at Hillview to join the PUCC in their annual worship and potluck in the Interpretive Center there. Grace Notes, the PUCC praise band, led the singing and opening liturgy, Bobbi Bendickson gave a message of God and the majesty of his creation, and Pastor Jan presided over Holy Communion. Thank you to all who set up our worship space and Communion table! Thank you to Peg McAllister for providing the bread for communion and to Tim Kass for ushering for communion.

Set up involved working on technical issues! Remember two years ago when Karter Melvin heroically resolved the issues on his Dad's shoulders?

The beautiful setting outside our walls was admired by all young and old!

Following the worship service, we enjoyed a potluck lunch which featured pulled pork, smoked and provided by Brian and Aly Bendickson. Thank you also to Linda Smith for her work on setting up the meal!

Calling all Living Faith-ers who would like to form a Christmas Choir - are you interested in working up a choral selection for our December 15 service? We are in need of someone who would be willing to accompany this choir as well. We will select a song which requires a minimum amount of rehearsal (one!). Please let Kay know by October 20 if you have an interest. Also, let us know if you have a selection you'd like to share for us to do!

Giving Notes:

If you'd like to donate to Living Faith via online giving, please see Kari Kopperud and she will get you a form to fill out to make this happen!

Also, please note in the reporting of our weekly offerings, we are reporting out the plate offerings which do not reflect the online giving amounts.

Le Mars Pioneer Village Christmas Request

Living Faith has been asked to consider having a choir from our worshiping community sing on December 14 from 5:00 - 5:30 in Century Hall. We would need a commitment of several members, an accompanist, and would need to set a time to decide what to sing to fill the half hour, and rehearsal time. The Pioneer Village committee would like an answer about this request by Sunday, October 13, so please let Kay know right away if you are interested in helping to organize this and do this presentation.

ree

All Saints' Sunday is coming up on November 3rd. If you have a loved one you would like Living Faith to remember on that day, please contact Kay by October 27.

What has the Leadership Team been up to?
  1. The Leadership Team has been asked to participate with the PUCC's Property Committee and Todd Lang has volunteered to be our representative on that team.

  2. Tim Kass will be in charge of closing up the church building each Sunday morning.

  3. We have purchased an additional 20 hymnal supplements along with a hymnal cart to easily transport hymnals into the sanctuary each Sunday.

  4. We are looking ahead to Lent when we will gather on Wednesdays for Lenten services. We will have the Lenten service at 5:00 followed by a meal. During the service, we will have the Holden Evening Prayer liturgy followed by a speaker each week. The Leadership Team is working on a speaker line-up.
