The Rite of Affirmation of Baptism for Marley Stream was a special part of our worship service. Marley has been a part of the Confirmation program of Country Roads Ministry and Christ Lutheran Church, Grant Township under the direction of Pastor Trish Underberg and Vicar Grace Baumgartel. Marley is the daughter of Diego Garcia and the late Katherine Stream. Her grandparents are Rick and Sue Stream. Marley's baptismal sponsors are Ryan Stream, Jane Le Clair and Jennifer Scott. Sue served as a mentor for Marley throughout her Confirmation years. Congratulations to Marley and her family as Marley affirmed her faith along with her Living Faith family!

Marley was presented with a personalized stole from Living Faith. Also, as one of her Confirmation projects, Marley designed and constructed a cross representative of her. Beautiful!

On behalf of Living Faith, Kay Michaelson presented Marley with a gift from our faith community! God's blessings to you, Marley!

The Stream family hosted a reception for Marley following our worship service.

Thank you to Mark and Cheryl Juhl who attended the Winds of Hope Conference meeting on October 20th in Melvin, Iowa. They report that Lutheran Men in Mission, an organization Mark is involved with, invites all men to attend a meeting on Saturday, November 9th at 10:00 at St. John's in Pomeroy, Iowa. Lutheran Men in Mission's focus is helping parents and grandparents pass their faith on to their grandchildren.

The Synod is working on a disciplinary policy for pastors. The Synod Assembly Election of a Synod Bishop will begin the process of conducting background checks on candidates as this is a time consuming task and so must be started soon. A new Bishop will be elected at our June 2025 Synod Assembly. A celebration party is being planned for Bishop Lorna and details will be announced when finalized.
