From our Naming Night in 2022 to our charter signing service in the Youth Room in 2023 to our worship in the PUCC sanctuary with our new pastor in 2025, Living Faith will be formally recognized as the newest congregation in the Western Iowa Synod during the Synod Assembly on June 13! See the article in this week's newsletter to get the details on your invitation to be at this time of recognition!
Last Week

Pastor Paige led us in worship on the Sixth Sunday of Easter. She brought us a message of Lydia's (and a yoga studio's!) hospitality: open hearts, active listening, and an invitation. This is the mission of the church - to invite, be open, and to let all be heard. This is not easy, but God is a good model of this hospitality and He has made His home in you!

Thank you to all who contributed to our worship service along with Pastor Paige: Travis Balt, Yvonne Law, Angela Catton, Peg and John McAllister and Tim Kass.

Next Week

ALL are welcome to Living Faith's Sunday worship at 11:00 AM in the sanctuary of the Presbyterian United Church of Christ (858 7th Ave. SE). Pastor Paige will lead us in worship, Gail Kass will accompany us on the piano, Nathan Summerside will read scripture and Peg McAllister will assist with Holy Communion.

The installation of Living Faith's Church Council will take place during the worship service on Sunday.

Thank you to Gail Kass for serving the Faith & Fellowship time last week! This week, Kay Allen will be hosting the 10:00 hour where we will join in coffee and conversation with our friends from the PUCC in the Fellowship Hall!

Living Faith will be recognized as the newest congregation of the Western Iowa Synod on Friday, June 13 at the opening worship service for the Synod Assembly! If you have not signed up but wish to attend, please let Kay know via text or email this week! Attendees are asked to be at the Nativity Parish Center (4242 Natalia Way in Sioux City) at 4:00 that afternoon. You are invited to stay for the meal following worship. Wear your Living Faith gear if you have it!

We are still in need of volunteers for our entry in the Ice Cream Days parade! Maybe this will be the year we break the rainy day streak we have going with this parade! We need float riders and pick up riders - so please take time to sign up on the sheet on the Living Faith table in the narthex!

The theme for our float this year at the parade is "We love because He first loved us!" We have heart candy to pass out to the parade goers but will need more, we're sure! If you would like to donate candy, just drop it off in the bin in the narthex. Hard candies are preferred although Tootsie Rolls are fine for a chocolate candy!

Please text or email to Kay a picture of your Dad for a Father's Day presentation by June 12!
Here are pictures already in hand from a previous presentation: Dads of Karen Schroeder, Gail Kass, Ardis Boetger, Rich Ziettlow, Brian Michaelson, John McAllister, Pastor Jean Ziettlow, Kevin Richards, June Ferguson, Debbie Gibson, Jenelle Van Otterloo, Conor, Nate, and Owen Rathke, Yvonne Law, Angela Catton, Todd Lang, Casey and Eli Mack, Kay Michaelson, Peg McAllister, Mark Catton, Kortney, Jordan, and Jess Kopperud, Tim Kass, Kim Lang, Judd Kopperud, Dawn Richards, Jenni Mack, Dell Ferguson, Tyler Gibson, Sharon Utesch, Kinley and Anniston Van Otterloo, Mitchel Mack, Kari Kopperud and Nathan Summerside.

Beginning June 1, Pastor Paige's office hours will be Mondays from 10 - 2 and Thursdays from 1 - 4. Stop on by the Presbyterian United Church of Christ and you will find Pastor Paige in Room 105!

The Church Council will meet Wednesday, June 4 at 6:30 in Room 105.

Living Faith will join with the PUCC on Thursday, June 26 for a Do-Day where we will make the blankets Carolyn Bickford mentioned in her talk during Lent that are needed in the hospitals in Honduras. You do not need to know how to sew to help! Do-Day will start at 9:30 and if you wish to eat lunch, taco salads from Taco John's will be ordered.

Dr. Mona Bomgaars will be speaking at the Plymouth County Museum on Sunday, June 8. Dr. Bomgaars was a medical missionary in Nepal and she will be speaking about her experiences in conjunction with the unveiling of a display at the museum of artifacts from her days in Nepal along with those collected by Norma Kehrberg who taught English classes there.

Volunteers are needed for the events and tasks of Ice Cream Days which will be held June 18 - 21. Click on this link to see all the different ways you can help and sign up: https://bit.ly/ICD-2025-VOLUNTEER
