Last Week
We celebrated Mother's Day with a thoughtful message from Pastor Halaas about this special day. We revealed the identities of those whose pictures were contributed to us. Here are some of the mothers of Living Faith-ers!
Thank you to Pastor Halaas, Gail Kass, Angela Catton, Sandy and Grace Heeren, Kay Michaelson and Tim Kass for your contributions to our Sunday morning worship!

This Week

We will be celebrating Pentecost Sunday in the Chapel at the Presbyterian United Church of Christ (858 7th Ave. SE in Le Mars) at 11:15, Pastor David Halaas presiding. The Michaelsons will greet you at the door - park in the back part of the parking lot and enter through the door with the Living Faith logo. Kari Kopperud will read Scripture, Kay Allen will assist with Holy Communion and Dawn Richards will accompany us on the piano.
Come join us and celebrate Pentecost with us - WEAR RED!

Last Sunday, we shared the stories of our mothers! Thank you to Gail Kass and Sharon Utesch for providing treats for the Faith + Fellowship hour and Angela Catton for brewing the coffee!

Western Iowa Synod's Lutheran Men in Mission is holding a reorganizational meeting on Saturday, March 18 at 10:00 AM at St. John's Lutheran in Pomeroy, Iowa.
In David Anderson's book "From the Great Omission to Vibrant Faith", he states, "What we do know is that you the parents are far more influential than pastors, Sunday School teachers and catechists to pass on the Christian faith to your children." There also was a study done in Switzerland that showed that the fathers were more of an influence than the mothers in regards to passing on the Christian faith. This meeting will focus on strengthening and helping men become better fathers and grandfathers.
If you would like to ride along with Mark Juhl to this meeting, contact him at 712-540-1391. There will be burgers on the grill following the meeting!

Living Faithfully
On the Living Faith website's Living Faithfully page, the 7 Practices of Faithful Living features Faithful Practice Number 2: Study...Lifelong Learning...Study Scripture Frequently.
Here are the ways Living Faith works to put this into practice within our faith community:
Hosts a Faith + Fellowship time on Sunday mornings to study and discuss the Gospel lesson for that Sunday.
Organizes the subscriptions for Augsburg Fortress' devotional Christ in Our Home to be sent to the homes of those interested.
Provided Resurrection Eggs to Living Faith families to learn about and discuss the Easter story.
Offers Family Summer Bible activities for the summer of 2024.
Will offer Sunday morning VBS for Living Faith family and the community at large in June of 2024.
Offered Wednesday night Lenten discussions.
Invites children ages 4 years old - 5th grade to attend the PUCC Children's Chapel from 10:15 - 11:00 on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Sundays of the month during the school year.
Partners with Country Roads Ministry to offer Catechism instruction for our 6th - 8th graders.
If there are other study and lifelong learning ideas you have for any and all ages of Living Faith members, please contact a Leadership Team member or Pastor Halaas! We continually want to dream new opportunities for everyone to experience the Scriptures and grow in understanding and knowledge!

Kari Cunningham is celebrating her graduation from Le Mars Community High School. She, along with her parents, Mike and Rachel Cunningham, invite all Living Faith members to an open house in Kari's honor on Saturday, May 18th from 5 - 8 pm in the PUCC Fellowship Hall.

Recently, Pastor Halaas and Bishop Halaas had to say good-bye to their beloved beagle, Snoopy. Do you remember when Snoopy joined Living Faith's worship service when we had a virtual service from Pastor Halaas' home? It is never easy to lose a pet and it takes awhile to adjust to their absence from your home. Snoopy was a lucky dog to have such good caretakers and the caretakers were lucky to love their dog for 15 years.
The following video is one this writer often showed to middle school students to explain about God when discussing the first article of the Apostle's Creed. It is shared here in honor of Snoopy:
