Last Week
Pastor Joy challenged us to spend this waiting time of Advent being the hands and feet of Jesus to bring peace and justice in our world - one small act at a time!
Thank you to those who helped out in worship:
Pastor Joy Gonnerman, Brian Michaelson, Peg McAllister, and Tim and Gail Kass
Next Week

We will light the rose colored Joy candle for the third Sunday of Advent.
Pastor David Halaas will be in the Chapel to lead worship and preside over Holy Communion. Please join us at 11:15 as we wait for our Savior!
Peg McAllister will read scripture, Kay Allen will assist with Communion, and Dawn Richards will accompany us.
We will have some special things happening during worship that day:

We will celebrate Christmas with a Christmas program everyone will take part in! This low prep, no stress presentation, "The Sounds of Christmas" by Deb Brammer, will tell the Christmas story as Living Faith participates! We especially invite the young children to be a part of this Christmas message!

Living Faith's Christmas Choir will sing on Sunday! If you would like to be a part of the choir, we'd love to have you join in! We will be rehearsing on Saturday, December 16 at 9:00 AM in the Chapel of the PUCC. Enter through the Noah's Ark Preschool door. If you can't make it to Saturday's practice, we will be rehearsing again on Sunday, the 17th, in the Youth Room (first door on your right as you enter through the preschool door) at 10:45. Thank you to Dawn Richards and Kjersten Rahtke who have been working on music selections for us to choose from on Saturday!

We had a fun-filled hour at Faith & Fellowship on Sunday during our Christmas brunch! Thank you to Kay Allen and Kari Kopperud for bringing in deliciousness and Tim Kass for brewing up the coffee!
Jordan Kopperud was declared King of the Christmas brunch by scoring the most points in the Christmas Merriment game - it must have been all those parts he played in past Christmas programs that put him over the top! Congratulations, Jordan!
We didn't quite get all our merriment accomplished on Sunday so please join us this coming Sunday at 10:15 in Room 103! We'll have the coffee on for you and Cheryl Juhl will be bringing in treats for us!
Living Faith Advent Project!

Our trees are filling up with the generous donations of our Living Faith family! If you haven't returned your cleaning or hygiene supplies, please bring them on Sunday and slip them under one of our trees! If you would still like to donate, please see the lists of ideas for cleaning and hygiene products in last week's newsletter. All supplies will be delivered to Mid-Sioux the week of November 18! THANK YOU, LIVING FAITH!

Living Faith and the Le Mars BackPack Program
Living Faith has designated the Le Mars BackPack Program as one of the local programs to give our benevolence monies to. We received the following message from Brandy Sanchez who helps to head up this program:
"Dear Living Faith Lutheran,
On behalf of the Le Mars, BackPack Program, I would like to thank you for your donation...It is so wonderful to have such support for this important work. We couldn't do this without people like you....Again, please accept the gratitude of the Le Mars BackPack Program for your generosity and support in nourishing Le Mars' children. We appreciate you!"
Living Faith Contributing to the Community
On Saturday, December 9th, Living Faith joined with the PUCC in baking and decorating Christmas cookies to be distributed at the Christmas caroling event the following day! Thank you to the women of the PUCC who prepared dough and frosting ahead of time to make the rolling out, baking, frosting and sprinkling so efficient! It was a sweet morning!

On Sunday, December 10, Living Faith again partnered with the PUCC and went Christmas caroling in the community! It was an unusually warm day to be singing Christmas carols, but the carolers appreciated the weather very much! Thank you to the PUCC for the jollly props and hosting a soup supper afterwards!

The Leadership Team worked at decorating the Chapel to get ready for Christmas! Special thanks goes out to Kari Kopperud for pulling together all the items used to decorate!

The Leadership Team is meeting Friday to tie up Christmas plans, visit about financial reporting out to Living Faith members for the end of the year, and believe it or not, to start to plan for the seasons of Lent and Easter!

December 17 - Sunday worship at 11:15 in the Chapel with Pastor Halaas, the Living Faith Chirstmas program, the Living Faith Christmas Choir and Holy Communion.
December 24 - Sunday morning worship at 9:00 in the Chapel with Pastor Gonnerman preaching and presiding over Holy Communion. There will be special somethings for Living Faith children and adults!
