Sunday's Joint Worship Service
Sunday's Joint Worship Service

Living Faith joined with the Presbyterian United Church of Christ to worship together on Pastor Jan's final Sunday leading worship for the PUCC. Pastor Paige assisted with the service and other Living Faith members who helped during worship were Tim Kass and Brian and Kay Michaelson.

Following worship, we adjourned to the Fellowship Hall for a brunch honoring Pastor Jan. Thank you to Kari Kopperud, Peg McAllister, Rich Ziettlow, Robin Grosenheider, Karen Schroeder, Sharon Utesch, Yvonne Law, Gail Kass and Mark and Cheryl Juhl who provided fruit bowls, veggie trays, and beverages for the brunch.

A brief program followed the meal where Pastor Jan was presented with a quilt, a photo of the church (taken by Sue Stream after a rain shower where she captured a beautiful rainbow over the church!), and Living Faith gifted Pastor Jan with our tradition of giving a spider plant to those we are saying, "Until we meet again!" Not only did we celebrate Pastor Jan's retirement, we also celebrated the anniversary of her ordination and her birthday!

Pastor Jan has sold her home and will be moving soon to Ames, Iowa where she will be near family as her brother and other extended family members live there.

Godspeed, Pastor Jan!

Sunday, September 6th

Living Faith will gather on Sunday, September 6th, to worship in the sanctuary of the Presbyterian United Church of Christ, 858 7th Ave. SE, at 11:00 AM with Pastor Paige McGrath presiding. Gail Kass will accompany us on the piano and Nathan Summerside will read scripture. Tim Kass will greet you at the door with a bulletin and Bailey Quanbeck will live stream our service. John and Peg McAllister will prepare Holy Communion for us.

Sunday, September 13th

Living Faith will celebrate God's Work. Our Hands. Sunday on September 13th by gathering at 11:00 AM for a lay-led service. Karen Schroeder will read scripture and Pixie Balt will accompany us on the piano. Mark Catton, Kay Michaelson and Sandy Heeren will lead this shortened service after which we will meet in the Fellowship Hall for a service project of making cookies and delivering them to our community's first responders. We will need bakers, cookie packers, card artists, card assemblers, and cookie box deliverers for this project which will wrap up around noon.

Let Kay know if you would like to provide a sweet treat for all who are working during this half hour!

There will be a parent/student meeting this Wednesday, September 2, at 7:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall of the PUCC. Parents and students who are entering grades 6 - 9 are asked to attend to get information from Pastor Paige about the upcoming year. The first Confirmation session will be held on Wednesday, September 16.

Pastor Paige will hold her regular office hours this week. There will be no office hours next week, September 7 and 10 as well as Monday, September 14.
